1000 Islands Playhouse 1000 Islands Charity Casino Sky Deck Gananoque Boat Line Boldt Castle

The Playhouse offers a wide range of accessible cultural experiences in the refreshing setting of the classic resort town of Gananoque. The intimate 360 seat Springer Theatre (the original Playhouse) presents five shows during the main season, and the innovative new 125 seat Firehall Theatre (located at street level, next door) presents three plays during the main season and several plays and events during the winter months.

The Charity Casino has a sleek and dynamic look that drew from cars and classic boats from the 1950s. Other features of this multi-million dollar facility include ship sails hanging from the ceiling, a glass wall, two murals of the Thousand Islands in a restaurant named Oscarís and antique wooden boats. The calming colours of blue and green are scattered throughout the casino to add to the ambience.

For 73 years, the castle and various stone structures were left to the mercy of the wind, rain, ice, snow and vandals. When the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority acquired the property in 1977, it was decided that through the use of all net revenues from the Castle operation it would be preserved for the enjoyment of future generations. Since 1977, several million dollars have been applied to rehabilitating, restoring and improving the Heart Island structures
